Thank you cards for my neighbors

My brother passed away the end of November after a long battle with cancer. He had lived with us the last year of his life. Our neighbors gave us a beautiful plant and took turns taking care of our dogs while we had to go out of town to the funeral.

I am way late on the thank you cards. But, here is what I made today. These are the first cards I have made in what seems like forever. I hope they like them.

Weight Update

Wow... where has the time gone? There has been lots going on lately in my life. I hope to grab a hold and get everything back on track. My weight loss has been constant. It actually has been nice having something I can control. I have lost a total of 40 pounds.... I can't believe it.

Curly or straight?

This is a two in one post.... one because I HAVE LOST 30 POUNDS!!!! YEAH!!!

The second is I wanted to show my new dooooo.... Whatcha think?

My hair is naturally curly but when I get it cut/colored I have my hair dresser straighten.... because I don't want to take the time. I highlighted my hair at the beginning of the summer and kept it this time.

Football - I love football.

I am so excited for fall. High school football had their first games of the year last night. My DS coached in his first varsity game. He is a junior in college but got an assistant coaching job (offensive and defensive line). He played one year college ball and coached at the middle school the last two years. I am so excited for him to get the opportunity to coach varsity while still in college.

Of course, DH and I drive an hour and a half to watch DS coach. Well worth it. Here is a pic of the coach in action.

Oh, yes for those of you that don't know... I love football... high school, college and pro. I love it all.

Cards from Scraps

Sometimes scraps make the cutest cards. Both of these cards are made from scraps. The one is an odd shape with a wrap made from paper. I like how it turned out.

WOW..... Ipod and Nike Sports Kit

We all of you know I am not the most technical person. Well, Sissy (DD) came home for a couple days. I went shopping with her of course. While looking for exercise shoes she convenience me to get Nike Ipod compatible shoes. The shoes were a little higher and the sports kit was $30. But, wow is it worth it.

You put this thing in your shoe and it transmits and stores info. It tells your how far, calories, etc. This by far is the coolest thing ever. I am soooo excited. You can transmit and chart your progress online.

We spent all afternoon loading songs to my IPOD which I got from work as an anniversary gift....YEAH.... cool gift huh?

I even downloaded a YOGA sunrise salutation series and beginner set. It will be a miracle if I can watch the itty bitty screen and keep my balance. One of the yoga downloads is a lady just talking you through a routine. I can probably manage that.

I have been much better practicing YOGA. I still need to spend more time exercising. But, it is coming.

I hope everything is going well for you. Sissy (DD) leaves tomorrow so I will be down in the dumps. I hope to craft some Saturday.

Sorry it has been forever since I posted. The month of July has flown by. Here is a simple card I made... I stamped the background on both pieces of paper. I really like stamped backgrounds. I hope with practice they will get better.

Blueberry Muffins

YUMMY!!! Today is my birthday..... wooooooo-hooooooo. Yes, I still love having my birthday. Instead of cake I have blueberry muffins. Yummy. This is actually a cooking light recipe. They are really pretty good. The mega size muffins end up being 6 WW points. Standard size muffins are 4 WW points.

WW Update - 25 Pounds Gone

WOW......... I reached 10 percent weight loss today. WOO-HOO. I have lost a total of 25 pounds. Sorry.... I don't have a pic for this post. Just wanted to share my good news.

This card is made almost entirely from recycled materials; a ritz box, newspaper, paper from a shoebox. The only thing new is the brad and the scrap of paper inside the card.

I am home....

WOW..... we had a wonderful time in Vegas. I did not win enough for the sewing machine or copics. But we had a great time. The rest of tonight I am chilling out in my PJs. I have chores tomorrow but as soon as they are complete I plan on spending the day crafting. Have a great weekend everyone!!!

On a much needed vacation

I left yesterday..... that was Monday right....? For Vegas. Having a great time.... thought I would take a break end chill out at Krispy Kreme ..... enjoying a diet pepsi.... I have refrained from the doughnuts thus far.... not sure how long I can last though... LOL...

This is a variation on the card I posted yesterday. I needed to make birthday card and I liked the other one so well I tried to recreate it. I did hand dot all the white dots with a pen.... crazy huh? I wish I would have had another chipboard button..... oh well.

Morning Glory Stamped Image Card

My friend Janis purchased this morning glory stamp at my BFF Tracy's used stamp sale..... How did I miss it....? I love the stamp. Thank goodness Janis let me stamp off a few. You can't see it well but the image is mounted on black card stock. I added glitter to a few flowers.... kinda reminds me of the morning dew.

WW Update - 20 Pounds Gone

I am so excited. Today I reached the 20 pound mark. Woooooooo-Hooooooooo. Because I am doing a life style change I elected not to weigh weekly. Since I am doing WW online this option works for me. In the past, I have gotten discouraged when the weigh didn't come off.... so not weighing weekly has really worked for me.

WW Update

The WW plan has not been that hard to follow. I have successfully lost 15 pounds since I started. It is now a habit to drink my H2O. This month I am going to focus on getting in my exercise.

Since I am in this for the long haul I have decided to take a picture with each weight loss update. YUCK.... I hate my pic taken.

Look what I bought........

I love vintage.... On our way home we drove by this house and they had this awesome outdoor furniture set. I had to buy it... what a bargain for $125. I already had the white end tables... I can't wait to fancy up the back patio. Isn't this the best ever....?

I joined WW today.....

Well, I went to the doctor today. Oh my gosh.... I weigh more than I ever have. In the past two years, I have gained almost 50pounds........... I can't believe it. I never was really thin...... but oh my. I know I have family stress but I can't use that as an excuse. My thyroid is still not producing enough so my medication has been changed yet again. I hope this will help kick start the metabolism. I don't know.

I joined WW online. My sign on is myw8is250. I hope this clever sign on will help me keep focused and be more accountable for my choices.

Don't worry this won't turn into a weight loss blog.

Non assembled Card Storage

I thought I would share with you how I store non assembled cards. Once I have decided on a card if making multiples I cut all the pieces together. Place them in a somewhat order in a pencil box. I bought several pencil boxes in the fall when on sale for 15 cents.... This process has worked really well when preparing for swaps or mass production. I also place a sketch or completed card in the pencil box so I don't forget what I had in mind.

PCMB Challenge

Some ladies on the paper crafts message board posted a card a day challenge... This is my first contribution. I really like the brown and green. WOW... do I ever love the marvy flower punches. I have three punches now and use them all the time.

Purse - Amy Butler Fabric

I thought I would share a couple of purses.... The rectangle multi fabric purse is my old one I had been carrying around for awhile. I decided to change it out for the spring floral pattern purse. I originally made it for my daughter but she said it was to small. I love how I can just pitch everything in it. The best thing is it washes well in the machine.

Patterns:

The spring floral is an Amy Butler pattern. The multi fabric purse is my own pattern. It is a perfect size and now that I have made enough of them it is quick and easy.

I made this 6x6 book for my BFF daughter, Baylee. She is an amazing writer. I love the pink and black pirates. You may not see the sentiment is attached with pink rhinestones. Super Cute...

Wow... I love March Madness. Tomorrow is going to be the best. I plan on sitting in my craft room watching basketball all day...... Well at least until 5:00. Then I have to go to a wedding. Enjoy your weekend.

Journal Stamp Card

My BFF, Tracy gave me the journal stamp. I used it with several other stamps. I love how the card turned out. No patterned paper just stamps. The flower was punched with red scraps.

This card was inspired by a card I saw in January 2008 (Volumne 3 Issue 1) of Cards magazine... page 143. The original designer is Diane DiTullio.

My Craft Room

It is official.... I have a craft space. The concrete floor is perfect.... messes sweep up and my dogs can craft with me.
I don't have the curtains done yet. The fabric is in the wash. I spent most my budget... so I plan on using fabric I purchased previously for something. Who knows what...
DH made the counter top space with the sewing machine, the cabinet, and the awesome workstation. The table the computer sits on is a table we had and I swiped.
Because of a tight budget the construction is mostly plywood and 2x4s. It works well for me because then I won't be afraid to mess it up.
The workstation is perfect for cutting fabric. I have a bar stool I sit on while using it. It is on casters so I can pull it out to get to all sides.
I'll try to post once I get the curtains finished. Hopefully, this afternoon.
