Ok....altering these letters could get addicting. Over all I am pleased with how these turned out. Half the embellishments were handmade the other half were from my stash. I think my handmade embellishments are getting better.
I saw this sketch somewhere on the net. I can't tell you now where. I was blog hopping. Sorry. I thought it might be the perfect sketch to save paper and postage when mailing. Add added the lines instead of ribbon.... No bumpy ribbons helps postage costs.
So, from two pieces of card stock (one white and one tan) I get two cards and two tags. For the brown and turquoise paper 1/2 sheet each allows me the extra paper for matting two cards plus extra large scraps.
How about you ........... do you have any paper saving postage/saving ideas?
I wasn't actually sure how I would like this book. It has been almost a year since my brother died of cancer. But, I felt this book was much more than dealing with cancer. It is about family, friends and life. If you read it, you will most likely shed a few tears. But, I guaranty you will also chuckle a time or two.
This is a really good book. Let me know what you think.
Ok... I know these are more like card fronts but I made these for the PCMB Christmas Tag swap. I hand cut the snowman head....not sure about it....he looks a little dorky. Cute but dorky.... maybe?
The little sledding bears is an image from my friend Janis. This is such a great set. I can't wait to see what she does with it. I used a cuttlebug snowflake folder and glittered the front like crazy.... sorry doesn't show up well in the pic.
I can't wait to see what the other ladies have created for this swap.
I thought it might be fun to read some books which have been made into a movies. I must read the book first. Personally, I feel the book is always more detailed. So, if a book becomes a movie.... do you read the book first? What have you read/watched that you loved/hated?
Towards the end of summer, I read The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. I really enjoyed the book. There are two versions of the movie on the DVD; theater version and director's cut. I watched the theater version this afternoon. It was really good but lacked some of the details from the book. I might watch the director cut later in the week.
Although, I loved Queen Latifah in this. I found it interesting to learn Will and Jada Smith were some of the producers.
Dawn McVey is a very talented papercrafter. You can find he blog here http://www.dawnmcvey.typepad.com/ . I enjoy admiring her style. She recently posted a color challenge on her blog. I decided to give it a try. I have been working on Christmas tags. I thought it might be fun to see what I could come up with for an inexpensive gift sack. I love using lunch sacks.
This is what I came up with. I hand drafted the elf shoes and cut them out. I love how this gift bag turned out.
This card was fun.... pink paper stamped with polka dot background stamp in orange. White scrap stamped with pink and orange flowers. Paper flower also stamped with another polka dot stamp. I liked how this turned out considering there is no fancy DP on it.
I was supposed to be cleaning up my stamp area but I was just not in the mood..... so I made this card instead. You can find the weekly Use It Challenges at http://useitchallenges.blogspot.com/. Here is my card.... the paper was taken straight off the messy desk. This is the very last of this paper.
WOOOO-HOOOOOO!!! I have not posted about weight in awhile. Still on my healthy lifestyle plan; exercising and eating right. I now have lost a total of 63 pounds. It has taken 13 1/2 months. A slow process but it is a life style.... right? Thanks for looking. Traci
First, I must tell you ..... I stink at photography. I would love to get better.... but golly not sure I can fit in another hobby. Well, anyway I wanted to share some pics of some flowers I planted in my flower garden. Many of you know when my brother was sick the last couple of years I did not have time to garden. I am enjoying it greatly now. So, here you go. Thanks for looking. Traci
This is the card I made for the challenge. It took a looooong time and it will probably cost a fortune to mail with all the paper on it. Of course, I had to add a flower.... used one of my favorite flower punches. I used flower stamps for the small squares.
I bought this Owl stamp several months ago.... I can't believe it took me so long to use it. The little brown polka dots are actually a center stamp for a flower set I have. Simple card.... fun stamping. TFL - Traci
I saw this paper and loved it. It is double sided.... floral on one side and polka dot on the other. I was able to get two cards out if it. Normally, I don't make them exactly the same but I could not resist with this card.
I made this card for a friend. She recently went back to work and loves lady bugs. The black paper is left over from Halloween and the red paper is left over from Valentine. I think it turned out cute. I love this stamp set from Papertrey Ink but I don't use it nearly enough.
Hi everyone... sorry for the lack of posts. I have been creating but my camera batteries are dead and I keep forgetting to charge them. Woo-hooo.... charging them now. My plans are to post a few cards tomorrow.
I am so excited. I hit 50 pounds yesterday. I think I had been at 40 pounds forever. That plateau was driving me crazy. Woo-hoooo. I celebrated and bought a new pair of Levi jeans. I am actually wearing them in this picture..... and guess what? They were a size 14. Woo-hoo.
Who am I...... I am a mother, wife, sister, and friend...... I love my life…..... I am a fickle creator never knowing what exactly to do with my time but desires to do it all.......
The rest I am left to discover.
