Look whoooo's been naughty or nice?

I created this card for the PCMB challenge. You can find it here http://www.scrapandpapercorner.com/mb/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=292095&sid=5e0ff771dff0f3c1fde692bcbf504d29. The challenge is to create a Christmas card with a non-traditional element or colors.
I originally saw this Owl on a card I got last year from PJPants. You can find her blog here http://jen-pjpants.blogspot.com/. I thought it was super cute. Then last week I found the directions on YouTube on how to make the owl. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-9Mqm9n2gw&feature=PlayList&p=C58BCD0C203A0748&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=16

Peace Christmas Card

I saw this sketch somewhere on the net. I can't tell you now where. I was blog hopping. Sorry. I thought it might be the perfect sketch to save paper and postage when mailing. Add added the lines instead of ribbon.... No bumpy ribbons helps postage costs.
So, from two pieces of card stock (one white and one tan) I get two cards and two tags. For the brown and turquoise paper 1/2 sheet each allows me the extra paper for matting two cards plus extra large scraps.
How about you ........... do you have any paper saving postage/saving ideas?

The Middle Place by Kelly Corrigan

I wasn't actually sure how I would like this book. It has been almost a year since my brother died of cancer. But, I felt this book was much more than dealing with cancer. It is about family, friends and life. If you read it, you will most likely shed a few tears. But, I guaranty you will also chuckle a time or two.

This is a really good book. Let me know what you think.

Punch Reindeer Card

Every week there is a challenge on the PaperCraft Maganize message board. All the gals take turns hosting. You can find this week's challenge here http://www.scrapandpapercorner.com/mb/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=291915&sid=4c6d689c72f2245e3b10e9a48ef28a7d .

I love the punch creations. So, I came up with this reindeer. I saw this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7tk3_x3m40 on you tube but I didn't have all the right punches. I think my little guy turned out ok.

From Our Home to Yours

As many of you know, Veteran's Day is next week.
I really don't have any military stamps. I struggle with non-girly cards but I wanted to make a card for my co-worker.
The inside says "thank you for your service....happy veteran's day".

Santa's "Chick" List

This is the card I made for this weeks MOJO Monday challenge.
Check it out here http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2009/11/mojo-monday-111-contest.html. I had this crazy idea about changing Santa's Checklist to Santa's Chick list.... hee-hee. I think it will make a cute card for Christmas for one of my girl pals.

I created the punch chick... you can find the punches I used below.

More Christmas Tags

Ok... I know these are more like card fronts but I made these for the PCMB Christmas Tag swap. I hand cut the snowman head....not sure about it....he looks a little dorky. Cute but dorky.... maybe?
The little sledding bears is an image from my friend Janis. This is such a great set. I can't wait to see what she does with it. I used a cuttlebug snowflake folder and glittered the front like crazy.... sorry doesn't show up well in the pic.
I can't wait to see what the other ladies have created for this swap.

The Secret Life of Bees

I thought it might be fun to read some books which have been made into a movies. I must read the book first. Personally, I feel the book is always more detailed. So, if a book becomes a movie.... do you read the book first? What have you read/watched that you loved/hated?

Towards the end of summer, I read The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. I really enjoyed the book. There are two versions of the movie on the DVD; theater version and director's cut. I watched the theater version this afternoon. It was really good but lacked some of the details from the book. I might watch the director cut later in the week.

Although, I loved Queen Latifah in this. I found it interesting to learn Will and Jada Smith were some of the producers.

Have a great day!
